When installing the air conditioner, if the copper pipe exceeds the fixed length provided by the merchant, does the extra part need to be supplemented with air conditioner refrigerant after the copper pipe is lengthened? How much refrigerant should be added?
1. How many meters after the extension of the air-conditioning pipe should be supplemented with refrigerant?
According to the air-conditioning installation or maintenance process (national standard or industry-related standard), when the connecting pipeline of the indoor and outdoor units of the air-conditioning installation exceeds the standard length by more than 5 meters, the refrigerant should be added in time.
According to different piping specifications or air-conditioning models with different cooling capacities, electronic scales are used to add refrigerant quantitatively to ensure air-conditioning performance (cooling and heating effect), otherwise, the air-conditioning will be in place when the air-conditioning pipe is extended and the refrigerant is not refilled in time. The low operating pressure of cooling or heating has always affected performance.
2. Calculation method of additional refrigerant in piping
First of all, we need to know that the additional amount of different air conditioner brands are slightly different, but the difference is not very big. Generally speaking, the additional amount is calculated based on the diameter of the liquid supply pipe, that is, the small pipe and the additional amount is different for different refrigerants.
Take Gree GMV as an example:
Additional refrigerant amount R = additional amount of piping refrigerant A + Σ additional amount of refrigerant B per module;
The calculation method of the additional amount of piping refrigerant A is as follows: additional amount of piping refrigerant A = Σ length of liquid pipe × additional amount of liquid pipe refrigerant per meter.
